Blades are forged from high carbon tool steel unless noted. The steels I mainly utilize are 1095, 5160, D2 and O1. I make all my own damascus, mostly from 1095 and 15N20. I perform my own heat treating using either an oil, water, or salt quench. Your satisfaction is guaranteed.
